Message from the LC:
Hello and welcome to the Learning Centre! Our classroom is special in the fact that it doesn't run like the average classroom. We welcome all school age students Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our primary focus is safety and relationship building understanding that our students come to us at different levels and needs. We practice a holistic approach to education building wellness for the body, mind and spirit. If your child is joining us in the classroom, the Kackaamin teacher will be contacting their home schools and communicating in order to best support the student. If there is school work that is absolutely necessary to complete, please bring it with you. Otherwise, we do a variety of academic, cultural and social emotional activities. Any of the Learning Centre staff are more than happy to answer questions when you arrive with us.
Toddler Centre Program (0-5)
Kackaamin provides family treatment sessions that include programming for age-appropriate teachings in the childcare centre. Some topics that may be covered include emotions and culture through story telling, culture sharing, and circle time. The staff encourage development through play (in/outdoors).
